'Deeply Unpopular' Biden 'Could Get Crushed' In 2024: Piper

"President Biden is deeply unpopular and that is highly unlikely to change," writes Piper Sandler's head of US policy, Andy Laperriere, in a scathing Friday note arguing that if faced with anyone other than Trump in 2024, Biden should be considered the underdog, "and there is a very real possibility that Democrats could get wiped out."

Biden has been 'very unpopular since early in his first year in office,' and is less popular than any recent president at this point in his first term, including Donald Trump, notes Laperriere. His biggest problems are his age, an economy teetering on the edge, and the Hunter Biden scandal.

"As the Hunter Biden guilty plea highlights ... Biden has a growing corruption problem, too."

That said, Biden's potential 'crushing' depends on Donald Trump getting knocked out of the race.

"In a Trump-Biden rematch, both will be far less popular than they were in 2020," reads the report, adding that "any incumbent with Biden's liabilities should be considered an underdog facing the real prospect of a blowout if he runs against a capable, mainstream opponent."

"Trump has his January 6th and legal baggage," writes Laperriere. Premium ZH post here
