In what promises to be a hot button issue at election time Goldman takes an initial look at the US immigration policy effects. You can see the fireworks getting ready for November. They are ahead of the curve on this one. Luckily.. so is GoldFix
This will be a big issue this election encompassing:
Immigration- it’s growing
Inflation- it hurts (welfare) and helps (suppresses wages)
Wage suppression fears- it is designed to do that
Americans work productivity- not enough in growth industries
Unionization- will rise
Long Manufacturing, short Finance- our portfolio preference
