It is not just that the tide has gone out and the LBMA have been revealed to be swimming naked. But it turns out that they'd been claiming to have a lot more than they actually have and now everyone can see it.
Listening to this report re EFP's you mentioned that China is releasing some silver to London. Is this their strategy? (in hypothetical numbers): Deliver an oz for $75 and simultaneously buy (with proceeds + profit) 1.5 ounces of futures at $50 then stand for delivery (again) in that futures month. Rinse, repeat thus keeping the squeeze upward on prices overall. Is this a thing?
He could be right, but the devil is always in the details for technicians. What indicator was used for momentum? Is it used consistently or has it been curve fit to confirm your view? If we look at something as simple as momentum on spot silver in isolation going back to 1978, it tells a different story of non-divergence. This is why I prefer actual price as opposed to derivatives of price like moving averages and momentum indicators. I get that Oliver is referring to gold/silver ratio here.... just pointing out that the value of indicators (and their settings) are often in the eye of the beholder.
I think he uses the average of the last three months for the reading, and uses the same tools each week to gauge progress. it's consistent. he also has a percentage indicator and uses relationships between the gold and silver miner ETFs. it doesn't look like he is curve fitting and i haven't seen this sort of chart analysis anywhere else. if i'm understanding his newsletters correctly, you can still buy silver at the current price.
Thanks Carlo. Yes, I understand from Vince's prior videos what he does. Very interesting and unique. I wasn't really trying to criticize him per se- really pointing a stick at indicators in general.
Vince, on prediction #2, as the government is accumulating more gold, are they putting it on the balance sheet at $42.22 and thereby increasing the deficit as they buy?
BTC is a dollar debasement trade. This is a Metals War. Thanks again Vince. Incisively insightful. Be careful, you may be soon classified as a critical asset.
Silver Rally: Eric Yeung pointed out that Silver is always going higher if Trump is trying to pressure China. It is flexing muscles during negotiations.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=coezf7L9QHo
