Milan crushing Real Madrid away wasn't the only shock result last week. We also had Trump's thumping election victory, which has fueled all sorts of speculation about what a “Trump unleashed” might do. Most of the focus has been on runaway inflation, fueled by headlines about 2000% tariffs, trillions and trillions of extra debt, and let’s not forget mass deportations and “leaning” on the Fed.

Nobody knows exactly what the new president will do. But the Trumpflation thesis seems overdone.
