Why Is JPM’s Gold Vault Next To The New York Fed’s?-ZH Classic

Yesterday we posted on X.com a comment titled Daisy-Chained Gold Map which describes the ease with which gold could be in more than one place at the same time in New York City.

Daisy-Chained Gold Map:

In electronics, the daily chain is a strategy where multiple devices are wired together in sequence for sharing.

In finance: daisy-chaining is used for “double counting” to fool auditors by giving impression funds are in two separate places simultaneously.

[Only a dedicated corridor and door separate NY Fed Gold from JPM Gold vault.]

The above is not a stretch when you consider that in times of great financial crisis firms will cooperate with each other and dual-list their assets to make sure neither firm collapses in a liquidity crunch. This was done during the Great Depression and other times (we’re sure) that were never revealed.

Essentially the use of daisychains in finance is an accounting trick to keep one firm stable. If that firm went under, it would take the other firm with it and increase systemic instability.

In modern times, the Fed obviates the need for a daisy chain by merely brokering (creating) fictitious money… making it legitimate. It’s important to note that most fed plumbing is the connector in a daisy chain.

However, with gold, a real asset, there is no such Fed back-up source. And that’s why (we bet) the daisy-chaining practice continues to this day in gold Bullion vaulting but cannot prove.

Understanding daisychaining, and the fact that the US has gold in multiple locations, gives you an indication of what could be going on at Fort Knox.

As to the ZH post giving impetus for the above; Unfortunately, we have to put our excerpt of it behind a paywall.

Here is the link for their original (now premium) full Post from 2013 that inspired the above analysis. It’s a fantastic read given recent events.
