Rowan Atkinson, famous for the Mr. Bean comedic character, stridently (and somewhat humorously) comments on the recent UK Free Speech clampdown in the video above.
Indeed, if I remember correctly he's an electronic/electric engineer so quite accustomed with numbers and reality... just to begin with... and with an IQ I would kill for... Mensa like guy..
It certainly is a very broad rule to begin with. Governments always like to leave those in. But the fact that it’s being abused on such petty, instances is kind of horrifying.
Yes. It’s becoming apparent that those that are against free speech simply those who are in charge. Because being in charge usually means free speech is critical of you. So when the nation was more conservative and the conservatives were in charge, free speech was something that they wanted to control. Now that the so-called progressives are in charge, they’ve abandoned the concept of progressiveness altogether.
The answer I fear is actually kind of simple: incumbents don’t like change and free speech is an instrument of change. Upstart and challengers wanting free speech and change. When it comes down to it, the young want change and the old cannot tolerate it. Generally speaking. And that’s why Democrats are intolerant now just as Republicans were intolerant 40 years ago.
And the real real answer is: people in power like to stay in power. And people not in power want to be in power .
And those who want it bad enough on both sides scream the loudest about it.
Meanwhile, everyone else is too busy working to scream ….
Difference between Rowan and the "orthodox" guys?
He is an intelligent, well educated Sir playing dumb.
They are dumb not so well educated morons playing intelligent.
I wish him in politics.... but sadly he's not so crazy to waste his time between those monkeys...
He certainly is smarter than he acts! Lol

Hear, hear...
Well said indeed...
I live in the UK and these recent developments are very concerning.
